The Game
Mekabolt is a physics-based 3D robot-building and combat game on local multiplayer on tablet. The game takes place in a quirky universe. The goal of the game is to push the other player’s robot outside of the arena. Mekabolt has been design as a freemium game.
The game was realised in partnership with Gameloft : a constraint was the target of the game : young players between 8 & 12 years old ! That was a great challenge for us.
We needed to find kids for playtesting and we managed to find 6 children to realise them.
The game is composed by two phases : a construction phase in which players can craft their robots with several active and passive gears.
The second phase is the fight. An active gear equipped creates a button and the player can use it to fight. There is no button for passive gears, only a cooldown.
