The Game

When the player talks to an NPC giving a clue, he must solve a puzzle. This puzzle is a kind of memory game.

NPC shows three symbols in his speech bubble (ex: Moon, Sword, Cross). They are visible to the player a few seconds before returning and mix them. The player must place the opposite symbols in front of the  returned cards in the correct order.

Sky Skimmers is a procedural generated adventure freemium game on smartphone for one player realised in partnership with Gameloft.

The goal is to find a NPC on the map that is changing at each new game. This NPC is always changing at the begining of each game and can be recognized thanks to its appearance. To do that, the player has to gather hints to know its identity and its localisation.

The game is turn-based and is taking place on a top view world map, which is divided in tiles. The player controls a ship, his moves are limited . Each turn, the NPC moves to another tile. The player can also use his tools to find the NPC. The world map is composed by 3 types of islands: the “Town Islands” (which triggers the panorama’s gamemode), the “Port Islands”, and the “Resources Islets”.

When the ship accosts an island, the camera switches to a side view. A panorama of a town is deployed, and the player is able to slide it horizontally to move. In this place there is some NPCs, who might be the one the player is looking for. The game is over when the player suspects the right NPC.
